A Brief History
LWD Waste Services was formed in 1987 as Leek Waste Disposal to provide a better skip hire and waste disposal service to local industry and the general public.
With the closure of the local landfill site to commercial and industrial waste producers the company built its first waste transfer station in Station Street, Leek, carefully regulated by Staffordshire County Council Waste Disposal Department
Within three years we had moved to a purpose built waste transfer station designed by Reg Bestwick the founder of the company.
By this time our customer base had increased considerably, but the new site could still received more commercial and industrial waste through new and better waste handling and loading techniques.
In 1994 the company name changed to LWD Waste Services when we started to provide new services and cover a larger geographic area.
LWD Waste Services now offer a wide range of services which is unequalled in our area and with improved environmental standards in the thoughts of everyone, LWD Waste Services stands side by side with industry, commerce, the construction industry and the day to day waste generators to form a relationship with a cleaner and safer environment in mind.
